India’s healthcare system is being pushed to the brink of collapse by the crisis of oxygen supply. Hospitals in Delhi and Central India are running out of basic supplies such as oxygen cylinders because of the COVID-19 wave, leading to an increase in cases and deaths. In this crisis of oxygen deficit, Magneto Cleantech has come forth to serve its part for the nation.

In recent months, the Capital has been hit by a spate of cases and deaths due to airborne COVID-19. With hospitals full and cremation grounds overcrowded, it is clear that the Indian healthcare system was caught unprepared for such a crisis. In the last few weeks, there has been a major crisis due to the shortage of medical oxygen available to treat the severe cases of COVID-19. Various states have been hit by the scarcity of this crucial medical element. While medical oxygen has been recognised as an essential medicine, it remains beyond the reach of the desperate and vulnerable population in this crisis. Almost every affected and disadvantaged individual and their families are bearing the brunt of the medical oxygen deficit.

The World Health Organisation estimates that more than 40% of low-income countries are experiencing critical shortages or emergency situation with regards to medical oxygen supply. And it is no secret that India is facing this emergency that has left the hospitals and the clinics with limited stock to meet the needs of their patients. What’s more, people have not been able to access the medical oxygen cylinders as the scarcity has made this life-saving gas too costly and unavailable altogether.

The current coronavirus wave in India has added to the urgency to address this deficit, and Magneto Cleantech has come forward to serve its part during this pandemic. As a member of the Indian air conditioning and air purification industry, on 26th April 2021, we initiated a call to action for all industry stakeholders to provide Oxygen cylinders that are used for air conditioning and refrigeration projects out to the public. Oxygen and Nitrogen cylinders are commonly used by individual service technicians, dealers, and manufacturers for air conditioning purposes. By giving away these cylinders for medical use, the industry can help those in dire need. “Given the prevalent situation in the wake of the 2nd wave, it is critical now more than ever to do whatever can be done at each individual’s level. This is a call for the sake of humanity. Nothing can be better than saving a life.” says Mr. Himanshu Agarwal, the CEO of Magneto Cleantech while announcing the industry-wide initiative to provide Oxygen cylinders to those in need.

Magneto Cleantech dedicates its team to help increase the supply of medical oxygen and make it accessible where it is needed most. These medical oxygen cylinders have been given at minimal or free of cost, and we are calling other players in the industry to do the same, to come out and serve their duty to the nation in this fight against the pandemic. Additionally, since the beginning of the pandemic in early 2019, Magneto Cleantech has launched multiple new air sanitizing solutions for the battle against airborne coronavirus and air pollution.
