When the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh was seeking a solution for complete clean air, there was an extensive technical evaluation of air cleaners. None seemed to have a complete clean air solution. After several assessments and technical verifications, it finally concluded that Magneto Central Air Cleaner was the only solution providing PM2.5 reduction, protecting the hospital patient, visitors, and employees from Cross-Infection, and reducing malodors. As the awareness around hospital-acquired infections (HAI) and air quality grew, PGI, Chandigarh, a forward-looking hospital & research center, decided to treat the air quality of a new building of the hospital. They had HEPA (high-efficiency particulate arrestor) filters installed in their air handling units through which the air was supplied to the property. The challenge with traditional HEPA (high-efficiency particulate arrestor) or MERV filters is that although they capture dust effectively, they are in turn a secondary source of pollution.



To protect its people, patients, and assets from infectious disease causing agents and to provide clean air, the team agreed to install Central Air Cleaners, a Magnetic Filterless Technology which is highly efficient on particulate matter and cross infection-causing agents. Since conventional filters only capture dust and bacteria, harmful microbes actually accumulate and proliferate on their surfaces, increasing the risk of these microbes being present in the air. The alternative was the Magneto Central Air Cleaner, electromagnetic filters had to be applied that not only capture tiny dust particles with high efficiency but also kill all microbes on the surface of the filters. These have up to MERV 15 dust removal efficiency and proven kill rates of 99% on E. Coli.
